The kindness and generosity Officer St. Laurent showed his community was tremendous. At Christmas he played Santa Clause and always enjoyed helping young people. More often than not Officer St. Laurent could be found tutoring students from Jupiter High School performing physics experiments related to speed measurement.

In his honor, Jupiter High School set up a memorial scholarship awarded each year to that special graduating student interested in pursuing a career in Criminal Justice and who performed “considerable hours” of community service.

The first scholarship will be awarded to a Jupiter High School student in the 2013/2014 school year.

$100,000 Bowling To Teachers Grant Program Available Too!

Kids Bowl Free works closely with teachers, school administrators and bowling centers to provide a safe, fun activity for children during summer break. Teachers expressed their concern of budget cuts and the lack of materials for their students. The Bowling To Teachers program helps 500 teachers improve their learning experience for their students by awarding grants.

Grant applications are accepted from certified K-8 teachers from all U.S. states, the District of Columbia and the Provinces of Canada, excluding Quebec. K-8 certified teachers teaching in public, private, charter or parochial schools may apply. “Bowling To Teachers” currently does not offer grants to pre-school or home school instructors.
